Motorcycle Suspension Components, Springer Front Ends, Fork Tubes and Rear Shocks

Motorcycle suspension, or lack there of, has a huge impact on the performance and comfort your motorcycle.  Most stock Harley suspension leaves a lot to be desired. Upgrading your front fork system or rear shocks can pay big dividends.  Perhaps you're interested in lowering your Harley; then a Burly Slammer Kit or custom shorty shocks are in order.  If you want the ability to dial in the rebound or preload of your Harley fork, then some Speed Merchant preload adjusters are just the ticket.  

Installing a Springer Front End on Harley

Throttle Addiction sells a variety of springer front ends for your chopper or bobber.  If you're looking to give your custom bike that "Old School" look, a springer can be a great place to start.  Our most popular springer fork is the Vintage Style Springer Front End by MID-USA.  This front end features all the styling cues from original Knucklehead and Panhead springers, yet is set up to run a modern disk brake.  We carry these springers in a variety of finishes including chrome, black, and black with copper accents.  If you need a bit of direction for how to measure to properly fit a springer to your build, check out our in-depth blog post.

Harley Fork Maintenance Items; fork seals, tubes and bushings.

Like all components on your motorcycle, your front fork requires some regular maintenance to ensure proper performance. Old scored up fork tubes and damaged seals lead to leaking fork seals.  Throttle Addiction sells replacement fork tubes for all Harley models including 39mm Sportster fork tubes and big twin 41mm fork tubes.  We carry the quality, made in the USA Custom Cycle Engineering fork tubes.  When replacing fork tubes its always a good ideal to install a new fork seal kit as well.

Rear Shocks and lower kits

Lowering shocks for a Harley is one of the most common modifications available.  Stock shocks are typically lower performance and lack any adjustability. Replacing your rear shocks is a great performance upgrade.  If you want to lower your Sportster or Shovelhead, Throttle Addiction sells a variety of Shorty rear shocks from popular brands like Burly Brand, Progressive Suspension, and Universal Cycle.  We have rear Harley shocks available in chrome finish as well as black.  Installing new rear shocks in a fairly simple process that anyone can accomplish in their garage.  All that is required is a simple motorcycle jack, and a few hand tools.
