George Salazar's 2000 Sportster Chopper

George Salazar walks us through his stunning Sportster Chopper. He talks about his experience using the Throttle Addiction Deluxe Sportster hardtail kit.

Interview with George Salazar about his 2000 Sportster Chopper Throttle Addiction Deluxe Hardtail build

George Salazar: My name is George Salazar. I'm from Los Angeles, California. And I brought my 2000 Sportster 1200 custom to the show.

TA: Tell us about your Sportster Chopper.

George: I always loved choppers. I sold my old bike after El Diablo, and started from knowing nothing about building a bike. I just went all in and I checked out ChopCult forums. I took some welding classes. I did all the fab work myself. I rewired everything. So shout out to all the home builders that are just like learning as you go. If I could do it, anybody could do it. I heard a lot of good reviews about the Throttle Addiction kit, so I went ahead and pulled the trigger. I found them at Born-Free 12.

TA: What challenged you the most about the build?

George: I took some welding classes down the street from my house. I wanted to do everything myself. So I went for about six months and learned how to TIG Weld. I just went from there. The fabrication on it, just like me being able to like wrench in my garage. Not knowing anything and picking it up and learning as I go.

TA: Tell us about that killer paint job.

George: I have a friend out of Long Beach and I wanted to support local painters. You know, small businesses. I had seen his work (Death Stalker Kustoms - @deathstalkercustoms) online and I reached out. I gave him free reign, just specified the colors I wanted. I just let him do what he does best.

TA: Where can people see more of your bike?

George: My name is George Salazar and I'm from Los Angeles, California. And you can find me on IG. It's @George_McFlight.
